i was hit by a sport utility vehicle today while i was riding my bike.  
surprisingly, i appear to have sustained no major injuries, although i 
have quite a few bruises, my right elbow is badly scratched, and i have a 
laceration on my left thumb.  unfortunately, my bike and helmet did not 
fare as well as i did.

remember to wear your bike helmet!
