[2003.10.19 2358h] [movie] hero [2002] it's nice to watch a movie in which the characters are not clearly defined as being good or evil. the characters are much more believable, as since most characters labelled as evil tend to be unbelievably evil. also, as since the moral ideal of good triumphing over evil is not applicable when there is no clearly defined good or clearly defined evil, one does not sit back and expect the forces of good to have a happy ending, but instead looks forward to seeing how the story's resolution will impact the characters, and how successful each of the characters will be in reaching their goals in the end. recently, i've become increasingly interested in history and philosophy, which is somewhat unfortunate for someone who is supposed to be working on theoretical computer science right now.
