[2003.08.30 2359h] in order to combat unsolicited e-mails, or spam, stanford has a filter in place that labels an e-mail as spam if the filter's algorithm believes that there is a high probability that the e-mail is spam. today, i received a legitimate e-mail that was marked as being spam with 99% probability, and several pieces of spam that were not marked as such. this has got to be one of the most boring entries i have ever written.
