General Information
Baikal differs from other lakes in the world by vrtue of its unique depth,
vlume, the quality of its water and age for usually lakes exist for no more
than tens of thousends of years and, finally, by vrtue of its wildlife.
A collection of images
The first vsit to Lake Baikal leavs you with an impression of might, purity
and grandeur. You begin to realize why local people speak revrently of the
lake, as of a livng creature, as though they believ it may take umbrage if
they called it a lake instead of a sea. It is the deepest, cleanest and, with
regards to its unique rich wildlife, rarest lake-sea in the world.
