On other notes, I went to Carnegie Mellon University in lovely Pittsburgh, PA as an undergrad, and came out of it with a B.S. in Computer Science along with a couple of unimportant and underused Minors that I'm unlikely to ever use in a job like situation.

I'm also currently employed (half-time during the schoolyear) at 3ParData, a fascinating little (though growing) company in Fremont California that pays me well, lets me work when I want, and doesn't have much (if any) dress policy.

As far as the distant past, I grew up in (and still occassional visit) the small rural community of Floyd, Virginia. (Strange, isn't it, that even rural counties have web sites these days?) My parents and brother still live there, and my father even has a website for his business.

Floyd is an odd place, inhabited by mountain folk, farmers, and a recent influz of hippies, the latter being the group I'm descended from.
