Things I spend my time on

Employment
I'm currently working for a software/hardware startup in Freemont, CA entitled 3PARdata. I was looking for an interesting summer job after the first year of graduate school, and they offered me more than I was willing to refuse. Thus, I now work at one of the most casual companies one could imagine. Which is good, as otherwise I would have had to buy new clothes, and I'm not sure anyone could pay me enough for that.

School
I'm currently persuing a masters degree in Computer Science at Stanford University. In theory, I should be graduating in March or June of 2001, depending on the University's ability to schedule the courses I need when I need them...

Rollerblading
My prefered non-motorized means of transportation is via rollerblades. I started Rollerblading when I first started college (which was when I started living in a place where there was sufficient asphalt and concrete to do so). i tended to spend a good portion of my time in them, and rarely took shoes to class. This has changed somewhat now that I live in Palo Alto, CA, as theres not all that much available within a pleasant skating distance.

The Camarilla
The Camarilla is a Live Action Roleplaying (LARP) and social organization that runs an international chronicle set in White Wolf's World of Darkness (which includes Vampires, Werewolves, Faires, Ghosts, etc). Out of all my non work and school related activities, this one occupies the majority of my spare time (sad, isn't it?). I started with the organization in the Fall of 1995, when several friends and I started a new chapter in Pittsburgh at Carnegie Mellon University. I stayed with that group for the duration of my stay in Pittsburgh, performing various Storytelling related tasks. The group grew to be quite huge, and is now one of the largest chapters in the world. When I moved out to San Francisco, I quickly got involved with the local Domain, and before I knew it (like only about a month from my arrival) I was thrust into the position of the Domain's cheif Storyteller. This safe is still continuing, and we'll see where it ends up leading me.

The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA)
The SCA is an organization that focuses on the creative recreation of the Middle Ages (basicly pre 1600). They create their own period clothing and crafts, and also recreate armored combat, which is one of my favorite SCA activities. They have regular events, where large numbers of members congregate and do their thing. One of the largest, and by far the most all encompasssing, is the Pennsic War, which gets upwards of 10,000 people each August for a two week camping event. Loads of fun. Unfortunately, I haven't been particularly active in the SCA since moving to California. Oh well...

Computers
I'm a long time fan of the computer. In particular, I'm a fan of Apple Computers, the maker of the Macintosh. I'm not as militant as some Apple fans, but you're not going to be able to convince me of the errors of my ways, at least as far as the Mac is concerned, so don't even bother.

In fact, I like computers so much, that I've made a Career of them, and got a B.S. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mello University, and am now working on my Master's degree at Stanford. Further, I'm even working at a computer startup company in Freemont, CA, just across the Bay from Silicon Valley.
