Jeremy Rudock (Geary)
Jeremy Rudock(Geary) here. Graduation is only 3 weeks away for me and I am glad it's almost over. I am still out at Wake Forest in sunny Winston-Salem, NC finishing up a Computer-Science/Physics double major. I recently accepted a job with a newly started business software company here in Winston-Salem and couldn't be any happier about life right now. I wish the best for all of you and would like to hear how everyone else is doing now.

Ramin Shadman

Oh my.

my oh my.

What can I say? I am speechless. So I guess that leave typing as the only option...

How are you all doing?! I know that some of you have already moved on into the big world, some are graduating, and some are sticking with the fab college life for a little longer. Anyway, I'd love to hear from you!

In terms of myself, I am just enjoying the last months of an amazing undergrad experience. Working on an Honors Thesis and finishing up my studies on International Health and Virology. Gonna take a year off and maybe work at a Health Care Think Tank, or teach at Stanford. And then off to med school. Anyway, hope to hear from you all!

Anne Williamson

hey guys, wait up! wait up guys! hey guys, remember me???

This is Anne Williamson sending out a big southern howdy to the peeps i unfortunately only knew for a year. [ for those of you w/ young-timers disease, i was the tall girl w/ big curly brown hair who was an army brat and only appeared at your school for senior year and missed out on all the really hard work of junior year.]

So I've spent 3.5 years in Raleigh, NC [college has been the longest amount of time i've ever spent in one place, and i never would have thought it'd be in the land of Krispy Kreme donuts (because the 'k' makes it sound even more hick), sweat tea, and Nascar). But it was worth it to vote against Jesse Helms in 96.

I am one of the lucky few (100 kids per year) to have gotten into the School of Design, and decided to study graphic design. my dad always said it'd take me 3 years to become a senior and 4 years after that to graduate. 'shore enuf, after 2 years, i realized my major was more like gra-FUCK design. I have personal hangups sitting at a computer for 18 hours a day. Junior year I changed my major to Art & Design, with a concentration in fiberart (weaving, screen printing, dying fabrics...and then making art from fabrics.making things with my hands makes me happy!) My libra nature makes me totally indecisive, and therefore, by the end of junior year, i decided i wanted both majors.

With a little summer school (study abroad drinking pilsner in Prague, Czech Republic) and some lovely AP credits, (if you have any extra that you don't need, can you pass em my way. I still need a lab science to graduate from this damn engineering school) ah yes, I will graduate in December 2000. With a Bachelor of Graphic Design and a Bachelor of Art & Design (BAD...that's my classification. On my class ring, I wanted to find an ASS degree..like Agricultural Soil Science...but NCSU doesn't have ASS degrees. I thought i'd be cool if my ring said BAD ASS. NCSU does have a PMS degree...in physical and mathematical sciences....hmmm....)

I know i'm playing in the right baseball park (this would be a design-related career) but i'm not sure what position i'm gonna play with these majors. I know what i DON'T want to do...and i know where i don't want to live (ummmm, the south) and i'm sort of afraid all the Things I Want might not exist in one job offer. Time to learn to compromise...ugh.

I will be at this address for another semester. I think this is where my education level stops....unless, after working in graphic design for a while and hating it, i decide to get my master of fine arts in fiberart...but that's a different sort of grad school than academic ones.

My parents haven't disowned my (yet) so i can always be reached at 5618 Dogue Run Drive / Fairfax Station / VA / 22039 and at [703] 323 5197. Who knows? After december, if i get fired from a lustrious position as a desktop publisher on the graveyard shift of kinkos, i might be the loser in the 'rents basement. (just kidding. really. hey, guys??? guys? it was a joke. in that funny-strange not funny-ha-ha sort of way.)

Ya'll take care now and come back, ya hear?

Anne the Army Brat

EJ Millstone
This is E.J. Millstone (Well, Wright now) in case you were wondering. I am still in Tucson, frying my way through April. 90 degrees. In April. All you back east or in San Diego can bite me. So, lets see. I got married my sophomore year at the U. Adam is currently in training as a plumber--I'm hoping he'll pay my way through grad school! My junior year we were suprised to find a new addition to our family was on the way, and now we are blessed with a beautiful boy named Bryan. He is an active toddler, running his parents ragged at every turn. As for me, I am FINALLY graduating from the U with a fun yet useless degree in Psychology. Since this will get me nowhere, I am moving to the University of Phoenix to pursue my masters in counseling. All this soft science was getting me down, so I tried out a few biology/chemistry type courses. Then I remembered that I hate that stuff, and am trying this year to heal my GPA. So, life is good here, even if we don't have a Krispy Kreme (has anyone tried those things? They are amazing!). It's been so fun reading everyone's updates, keep them coming!! Love E.J.

Jinna Lee

So happy to hear from everyone! Thanks to Dave for setting us up.

Jael Fleming

Hi all,

Well, I too sent my response to just Dave for his web page, but yes, this is much more fun, isn't it?

So what do I have to brag about? Well, for one thing, we have Krispy Kreme in the great metropolis of the Phoenix Valley and my roommate just bought shares in that company since he's such a big fan. Personally, I'd like to not gain that Freshman 15 all over again, so I avoid them when I can.

As far as my future, I have no idea where I'll be or what I'll do as of yet. I do know I'll be staying in my current apartment through June so I don't have to stress about moving as soon as I graduate. My mom is taking me to Washington DC and New York for a graduation present, where I will finally see Jinna after 3.5 years! After that I hope that I'll find a job in California. I am graduating from Arizona State University with a mechanical engineering degree, but am pretty sure that I don't actually want to be an engineer for the rest of my life, so it's a step towards something else - I'm currently thinking of an MBA somewhere - maybe I'll go to Stanford yet? Nice how I decided I wasn't crazy about engineering my SENIOR year! Oh well.

Over the past four years I did my fair share of traveling as well, doing the usual Europe thing and studying Early Renaissance Art History in the most awesome city in the world: Florence, Italy. I also got a free trip to Israel this past winter which was really great and makes me want to go back to learn Hebrew sometime soon.

And here are the big shockers - no baby, no husband, no boyfriend - completely free, baby, to go anywhere and do everything that my heart desires! What that is, I don't know, but I do know I love the beach!!! So cool to hear from you all,
Yael

Imelda Kirby

Hi Everyone!

Hope everything is going well for everyone. I guess I'll give a brief summary of what has been going on. I graduated with my B.S in Mathematics from the UofA back in 1998 and currently I have received my M.S in Applied Math from U of Washington. I am now in the Astronomy Ph.D program at U of Washington. But right now I am thinking of taking a year off and working for the "evil empire" (Microsoft).

Seattle is a great city! But I still haven't gotten used to the lack of sun ;->

take care and keep in touch! Cheers,
Imelda

Rachel Radspinner

Well, well, Davage. Hi, everyone!

I'm also here at the good old U of A finishing up a degree in Materials Science and Engineering, which I LOVE. I'll be starting an MS degree at Optical Sciences here immediately after graduation. After that, maybe more grad school in sunny CA? I've had the most fabulous four years in college, and am not ready to enter the real world yet. I'm not married, but sort of dating another MSEr. I doubt if life can get any better than this. I think of you all often, and wish you the best. My email will remain intact until next May (rachelr@engr.arizona.edu).

Rachel Radspinner

P.S. My college gets to wear ORANGE tassels at graduation! This is the main reason why I went into engineering, you know.

Xavier Velasquez

Wow...UHS people...erm...

Its great to hear from all of you and I am happy that everyone is enjoying continued success; part of being overachievers I suppose. Thanks to Dave for facilitating this.

I am completing my degree at the UA in Management Information Systems this May and counting the days, hours, and minutes until I graduate. I have a job lined up with a small technology firm here in town, (they go by the intials IBM), doing computer nerd stuff. After I make a little money and pay off these pesky student debts I will ship myself off to Boston in fall 2001 to study experiemental technologies and computer arts, (Media Arts and Sciences), at MIT because MBA's are for suckers.

Other than that, life is good, no wife, no kids, long term girlfriend, and a small dog named Oscar.

I wish everyone success and hope that you all find happiness in whatever it is that you do.

Keep in touch, (more often than every 3.75 years - email is cheap and easy, dammit!)

X.

Tamara Clark
Hi all!
Dave you are fantastic, when are you coming out to Tucson again to buy our restauraunt? :)

Well I am definitely on Rachel's wavelength about the whole college thing, I have had the best 4 years of my life so far, and I adore the U of A. So much, in fact, that I stayed an extra semester to goof off :) I graduate in May with Molecular and Cellular Biology and a minor in Spanish, but since I finished up all my requirements last semester I am currently taking 14 units of blow-off fun stuff focusing on my real love, musical theatre. I've got 2 dance classes and a kick-ass drama class, french for fun, j'aime la langue, et Paris aussi! I'm also singing in a band my brother put together and acting in a scene for a friend's directing class. And if you happen to catch a certain indie film at Sundance, you might catch a glimpse of me in the back, yup "girl in bar" :)

My other passion, traveling, was finally realized last summer...I finished my minor in Madrid and had the most fabulous time ever. If any of you get the chance I would highly recommend living in Spain, where the nightlife starts at midnight (that's early), parties go till dawn, and there's a siesta in the afternoons. Afterwards Jeannie and I did the whole backpacking/Eurail thing through 7 countries and had more fun than I really ever expect to have again. If anyone is planning a trip in the near future I can hook you up in most of the major cities :)

This summer I agreed to work as a songleader at my camp that I went to as a kid in Prescott, AZ. They're paying me a shitload of money and I figure it's my last real summer as a kid before I start med school in August. For the next four years I plan to call St. Louis home, as I will be attending St. Louis University Med and will have to adapt to cold weather and rain. I'm such a desert rat! I'm scared but excited at the same time...Right now I'm thinking opthomology but you never know.

As for social life, I live in a house with 3 roomies and a rabbit (when we told my roommate that she couldn't get a pet she figured we just meant dogs and cats) really close to campus. I pretty much go out every night--how sad is that? but did you guys know that there is a bar for every night of the week? You just have to look around a little bit...I'm currently dating another graduating senior. He's a doll but we'll see how long it lasts, with my track record I'm surprised it's been 3 weeks already.

Today is Lindsay Michael's birthday, I'm not sure she's on this list but you can wish her happy birthday anyway :) We're going out to 4th Ave to celebrate, the usual Maloney's and O Malley's if anyone in Tucson is interested.

Oh and donuts are gross. love and Breyers Thin Mints Girl Scout cookies ice cream (so good!)
tam

Harper Krizman

Hey guys...well I wasn't going to exactly post to everyone's e-mail but I guess one more won't much matter! Anyway so I'm not exactly graduating either....but hey, there's nothing wrong with taking time off, right? But congrats to everyone who is: well done! You survived! Anyway so I did take time off but now that I'm back at Wash. U. (that's Washington University in St. Louis, not D.C., not Seattle), I'm just waiting for the end of the semester and plugging through all the homework stuff. Be happy that you are all done!

I'm a psych. major who doesn't have interest in going clinical, so once I graduate, I've decided that PR would be the way....anyone have any contacts in the music industry? :) I would definitely agree that college has been great, but I've learned so much more outside the classroom than within. I'm so excited that Tam is coming out here for med school...so anyone who wants to visit I'm getting a great apartment, so any visitors are always welcome!!!

So what have I been doing? Well, lots...do you guys realize how great it is when you learn to cook real food??? I love it! And then some things here and there.....working in the psych lab (ick), doing some movie appearances like Tam (so much fun), modeling and I was lucky enough to get to go to 3 different countries in a 2-week span in March, which was an absolute blast! London is the most amazing, beautiful, modern city and everyone needs to go there at least once!! Anyway so that will all be continuing and eventually I will graduate, but until then, I'm living it up because you only get opportunities like this once in your life so you have to take them...and I want everyone to remember that!!! Oh and then this summer I'm doing a PR internship and taking classes in St. Louis.

Oh also, I think if people need job contacts, they should say in what industry because maybe other people know people, even in other parts of the country. I think this update thing is the perfect opportunity to ask for and get contacts.....so for myself, if anyone has PR contacts (or music marketing), that would be sooooo much appreciated!!! Good luck, all, and we have to have a 10-year reunion!

All my love,
Harper Krizman

P.S. I'd take ice cream over donuts anyday!

Christina Arrendondo
Hey everyone!

It's Christina Arredondo. I thought I'd jump in and say hello before all the e-mails got old. It's great to hear how everyone is doing. It sounds like people are happy and heading in good directions.

I'm in my last trimester at Carleton College in Northfield, MN. Nortfield is a peaceful town (maybe a little too peaceful at times?) and also known as "the land of cows, colleges, and contentment". In fact, in this county there are more cows than people and more pigs than cows. So you can guess the kind of surroundings I'm in! Minnesota has been an interesting experience in general though. It's even colder than you've heard and the accent more pronounced (which has been a constant source of amusement for my friends and I). If you've ever seen "Fargo" or "Drop Dead Gorgeous" you'll know what I'm talking about, doncha know? Plus, hey, what other state would elect Jesse Ventura for it's Governor!

Needless to say, I love my school, really enjoy Minneapolis/St.Paul (only 40 minutes away), but am really looking forward to graduating in June. I'm graduating with a BA in Psychology (as long as I finish my senior thesis by Monday!). I've also concentrated on studies in music and sociology. I'm planning on finding a job in the mental health field for the next year and then heading back to grad school for either my Masters in Clinical Social Work or Ph.D in Clinical Child Psychology (I haven't been able to decide). Since I'm planning on heading back West to California after graduation a lot of the graduate programs I'm looking at are there.

I would agree with everyone that college has been great. It's been wonderful to have had so many opportunities and to meet so many interesting and wonderful people. From working in hospitals in New York and Minneapolis during summer vacations, to visiting Megan McLaughlin in Boston and others in Tucson, to just finishing directing my first musical theater production, to singing in an a cappella group, to playing broomball (it's like ice hockey without the ice skates)...and well, to just keeping a crazy busy schedule. College has been loads of fun even if it was often under several feet of snow or under tornado watches (Minnesota weather is somewhat strange). Actually, the weather is the one thing I complain about! And I look forward to weather where my hair doesn't freeze and break off!

I hope that there is some kind of class reunion in the near future. Until then though, I'm glad that we have this opportunity to hear how everyone is doing.

And Happy Birthday Lindsay, and Jessica Core, and if I remember correctly Jenny G too (right?) .

Brad Bavaro
Hi y'all!

I'm just finishing up my last semester at Pomona College in Claremont, California, which has to be the antithesis of a college town. I mean, there's actually a city ordinance prohibiting fast food chains, and it was only in the past eighteen months that we finally got a bar within walking distance. Snoop Doggy Dogg used to be our number one citizen, but apparently the white upper-middle class retirement community groove was cramping his style, so he moved away about a year ago. And yet, despite all of the shortcomings (including the loss of the Doggfather), I am going to miss being here more than I can even imagine, and have had the greatest four years of my life. I am really dreading the notion of leaving this place.

Nonetheless, despite my best efforts, I'm graduating in May with a BA in Biology, and, after consulting a variety of sources, including an online Elvis ouija board, I've decided to go to the University of Washington to get my Ph.D. in Genetics. Why grad school? Well, I think going to grad school from college is analogous to going from elementary school to junior high. Sure, now you had lockers, but pretty much it was the same old comfortable drill. I guess I'm just not quite ready to enter the real world and wear a suit quite yet. Plus, my crapload of student loans will devalue over the next few interest-free years. And, oh yeah, I really like genetics a whole lot. So pretty much, I figured I had to go to grad school.

Harper, I actually visited Wash U and looked at their Ph.D. program, and really liked it a lot. St. Louis is much different (in a good way) than I had anticipated. However, I think Seattle is the place for me -- so... if anyone is going to be in Seattle next year (or the next 5 or 6 years, as Ph.D. programs aren't short), look me up.

Like some other people, I've done a fair amount of travelling. I spent a semester in Ireland, which was almost without question the most amazing five months of my life. Last year, I went to Las Vegas for the first time, which really is like Disneyland, but for adults. This past Thanksgiving, a couple of friends and I went to London sort of on a whim, and I am going to Puerto Vallarta for our "senior week." That's going to be crazy... I also spent a summer in lovely Bloomington, Indiana studying the genetics of mushrooms. I kid you not.

So that's about the last four years of my life in a nutshell. I am really, really sorry that I've not kept in better touch with everyone, but, well, you know. I do think back on the olden days of yore from time to time. In fact, I once spent an evening of procrastination plugging a bunch of your names into Altavista, in an attempt to covertly gather intelligence on everyone, but believe me, this is a much more efficient way of catching up with one another. So, major mad props to Dave for coming up with this idea. After graduation, I'll be in Tucson for at least a month or so before heading up to the Pacific Northwest to investigate the possibility of propogating the species with an army of Bob Saget clones, so if you're in town, give me a call. It sounds like everyone is having a swell life, and I wish the best for all of you.

-Brad

P.S. Sure, Krispy Kremes are damn fine doughnuts, but ultimately, they're still just doughnuts

Doug Contaoi

man, it's nice to know that so many of you people have done great things over that past fours years or so-- to all of you graduating this summer, congratulations for doing it in 4 years, beating the statistic of a college student graduating in 4.5 to 5 years, and all of you have picked excellent fields-- well, something about myself... i'm almost done with the UA and pretty much the city of tucson-- i've been here for awhile and it seems like i've seen the population twice over-- pretty much anywhere i go i recognize someone from somewhere (that can somewhat be annoying)-- i am majoring in physiology and by the end of this semester i will earn a minor in chemistry-- i finish all my major course work in december but i will still need to take a class or two to be able to take the certification exam in athletic training (which is pretty much what i am involved with)-- i work at mckale center working with elite athletes in football, softball, and basketball-- work is great but it's taking up most of my time that i can barely keep up with school and people-- like tamara and harper, i've had my cameos here and there, the longest during the men's basketball game against michigan state-- i was on national TV(CBS) for a good 30 sec-- son any televised UA game you might catch a glimpse of me on the bench-- i'm mostly involed with the women's basketball team and with that i've been able to visit all the schools in the pac-10 conference and the university of tennessee-- i like the job so far and i'll probably stick with it for a couple of years before looking at something else like acupuncture or a physician's assistant(all you MDs to be- don't forget about me)-- gotta start looking at grad schools over the summer, nothing in line yet-- i guess i'd better end here... oh yeah: not involved with anyone and i've been waiting patiently-- one more thing: dave- thank you for starting this chain it's nice to catch up a bit. what's the website address?
jeremy- what's with the name change?
anne- krispy kremes are awesome! it melts in your mouth.
ej- i admire your work balancing family, school and work.
jinna- i would really love to visit but wouldn't it be so awkward for me to just drop by?
imelda- great work ethic. you're my hero. seattle is beautiful. go fish-throwing at the public market for me.
rachel- i see you sometimes around campus, i guess i'll see you around.
xavier- still keep in touch with sean?
tamara- see you at the bars!
harper- i totally agree with you on the idea of networking and getting hook-ups for people.
if you guys need anything from me, just let me know, i'll see what i can do-- you kids have fun doing your own thing-- until then...

Sean McMillan
Howdy 96 UHSers:

This is Sean McMillan. I haven't died yet, let's cheer for me. The truth is I am not graduating for about 3 more years. WOOHOO! Other things came up, yes I travelled.

Last Saturday I got back home from a two year stay in southern Argentina as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints...aka the Mormons. I left the US in July 98 and got back a week ago.

I tell ya it's a WHOLE lot harder coming home than leaving. I don't like a lot of things here, culture shock and stuff. But I am better for the experience. The Argentine ppl are AWESOME. I brought back a profound repect and love for a ppl who are in a lot of ways more advanced than we are, not technically, but socially. We are dang cold and rude ppl. That's what I brought back, and a ton of pictures (if anyone is interested) and I am fluent in Spanish now. :)

Not too much else to say, seeing is that I have to build up my life again. No kids, no wife, no girlfriend...yet. Working on that. I am working constructionfor a friend of mine this summer. I plan on going back to the UofA to grad someday. My major (for now) is Public Administration, but may change to Spanish with a minor in Public Admin. We'll see. My life goal still hasn't changed, still wanna work for Tucson Fire and be a fire fighter/paramedic. And have a big family.

Anything else? Nope. Take care of yourselves and be good. Don't do dumb things!

Neal Armstrong
Hey all,

Wow! I can't tell you how surprised I was to open my e-mail to find 15 messages from all of you. This was about the last thing I ever expected. Dave - what a great idea to start this up. First of all, I can't believe that I graduated form the same high school as all of you. Every single message has been full of amazing stories and accomplishments. I didn't know some of your activites were even possible. I feel like I will have to make up stories about my college years just to compete :)

As for me, my life is about the same as it was 4 years ago - a complete confusion. I decided that I loved the U of A so much that I am staying on for an additional year. By next may, I will hopefully be graduating with a double major in Media Arts and Art History. The Art History is just for fun, but the Media Arts degree is my passion. I have recently become really involved in movie production. This last Christmas Break, I spent the entire time working on the set of feature-length movie filmed here in Tucson. With the exception of Cristmas and a few days for New Years, I was on set for up to 14 hours a day working as Best Boy (the head electrician's first assistant) and Key Grip. The movie is called "Runnin at Midnite" and will be premiring some time this summer.

The best part of my college experience has been due to my involvement in my fraternity, Delta Tau Delta. I have been a part of the house for four years and have seen some of the craziest things ever. You know all those 20/20 reports about fraternities, they are all true. I have lived in the fraternity house for three years and I have stories which I will have to take to my grave for liability reasons :). Actually, everything has been fun and I have no scars (physical or mental) from hazing.

I am pretty excited about tonight, which is Delt Senior Night. Every year, the seniors (graduating or not) get a large tab to go to the bars with. This year, $1000 dollars was donated for about 20 of us to enjoy. We rented a van and we are going to Dirtbags and strip clubs until the money runs out. Isn't this what you imagined a bunch of stupid frat guys doing?

Just like in high school, I am still a lifeguard. Currently, I am working at Archer Pool with Mike Gerhart. We work every weekday morning 5:30 am to 8:30 am and have seen every sunrise for the past 9 months. This summer, Mike will be my supervisor at Northwest pool, so it should be a fun time.

Finally, about the most important thing I have done in college is my volunteer work. For the past two years, I have been director of Project SHINE, a volunteer organization that places over 150 UofA students in the classrooms of three local elementary school. The volunteers have tutored over 1000 students in math, reading, spelling, etc. It feels so good to see a kindergarten kid finally realize that 3 plus 4 really does equal 7. Currently, we are working on expanding Project SHINE both in Tucson and to other colleges. We have former volunteers trying to set up the program at both Tulane and Iowa State. Well, there is my entire life. I am glad to hear everyone is doing well and I hope to hear from even more of you. If you know anyone who changed e-mail addresses over the past 4 years, try to let them know about this. Dave, what is the web site address? I didn't even know we had one. To all of you, take care.

Neal Armstrong

P.S. For my two cents about Krispy Kraps, donuts are from the devil. Damn them all to hell.

Leiba Schuneman
Oh, what fun! I love hearing about all of you. Though I agree with Neal that you are all incredible over achievers and you're making me feel horribly inferior.

I'm graduating in May like many of you, but, brace yourselves now, I'm NOT going to grad school. Not yet in any case. I finished my course work in December and am currently student teaching at Flagstaff High School for the last component of my BSEd in Mathematics. My students are incredible. They are, for the most part, nice normal kids with tons of energy and opportunities. I'm having a blast! It's so much fun to be on the other side of the desk. I'm doing everything a regular teacher does, from calling home about discipline problems to chaperoning prom. I can't wait to have my own classroom.

I'll be in Flagstaff through July, and then who knows. I've been procrastinating with the best of them when it comes to finding a job. I'm looking to move to the Portland area. Don't ask me why, because I've never been there and I don't know anybody there. It just seems like the place I should go. I won't be going anywhere if I don't get my butt in gear though. I have my own apartment off campus, which I graciously share with my cat, Stella. Or maybe she shares it with me, that part's not clear. I've been dating the same guy for a little over two years, although not entirely continuously. He has at least one more year of school to go (but at the rate he's going, it might turn into three or four). A fact that has caused more than it's fair share of strain.

I'll be in Tucson May 24th - 29th. I think that any of us who are around that weekend should do some bar hopping in celebration of graduation and reunion. Speaking of which, ten years is far too long. We need to have a five year reunion. I'm simply amazed by the people with whom I was lucky enough to go to high school. I think of you all all the time.

Hope to see you all sometime in the near future,
Leiba

Marni Zaborac
Hello Everyone!

I am so excited to hear about what all of you have been doing. (Thanks, Dave!) I am ready to graduate with a bachelor's in Biology and a minor in Women's Studies in May. Then a motorcycle trip with my father to celebrate. After that, I will be moving back to Tucson to work for the UA's entomology department for at least a year. Then I will probably return to Colorado to do some more field work. Maybe grad school after that.

I have been working in the school computer labs since freshman year, and at the entomology lab during my first two summers in college. I was lucky enough to get a job with the Colorado Division of Wildlife last summer, monitoring the nesting of Peregrine falcons. My research teammate and I hit it off, and now I have a very serious relationship on my hands. (What's that rule about fishing off the company pier?) It'll be tough being apart from him after graduation. I bet some of you are in the same situation.

I also am blessed with the honor of being EJ's son's godmother. I have to congratulate EJ on raising a beautiful son, maintaining a marriage, and graduating at the same time as all of us slackers. I can't wait to get back to Tucson to see you all!

Take Care,
Marni

Nicole Rugg
hi david and fellow penguins,

i hope its not too late to give you my life update...

after four years at texas christian university i'm a true texan and have decided to live in austin, texas next year. i graduated with my bs in nutrition and am still wavering between getting my masters at UT Austin or starting work at a local WIC clinic (gov't program that provides nutritional assessments/education and voucers for food to low income pregnant women, infants, and children). the move to austin was prompted by a man, my boyfriend brad is living and working at an internet start-up there now. i'm moving into my apartment there in july.

and at our UHS senior awards when kim said i would be the first to run a marathon, she was right...in 1997 i ran all 26.2 miles of the Dallas White Rock Marathon. i'm still doing lots of running and swimming. i miss arizona and the special place and people i met at UHS. i hope everyone is making the best of what comes their way.

thanks! nicole rugg
