Terry Jones' Professional Activities and Affiliations |
At Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL),
I am a Senior R&D staff member in the Computer
Science and Mathematics Division (CSMD) where I investigate high-performance
runtime systems and infrastructure software for parallel programming. My interests include
the unique issues faced in High Performance Computing (HPC), especially issues surrounding
the effective usage of large shared-memory and distributed-memory parallel machines (here's a highlight). I also have a background in the software design for scalable
I/O architectures, and the software development of new parallel tools and libraries
(here's one of my DOE funded projects).
My distributed systems work has motivated my research interest in
precision synchronized time protocols and technology (here's a highlight).
Prior to coming to ORNL, I worked
for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as a Computer Scientist and
Bell Helicopter as a software engineer and PA Incorporated as a physicist/programmer.
I earned a Master's degree in Computer Science from Stanford
University and a Bachelors degree in Physics from Southwestern
Oklahoma State University. |
