Infoskape built a Web application that streamlines the business processes involved in card distribution and subscriber acquisition of a cellular operator. The cellular industry has been characterized with high risks of fraud and bad debts. The issue is more significant in some countries than others. To minimize the risks, extensive data verification is conducted, which often entails visiting and interviewing the applicants. Working at another end of the story are sales staff whose goal is to sell as many subscription as possible thus demanding as fast and easy as possible an application process.
Before Infoskape's solution was introduced, the client had many different standalone applications. These applications served each separate owner well. However, as the subscriber base grew and the business processes became more complex, they were floored. Customer service was the hardest hit. Applicants had to wait for a long time just to get basic inquiries answered. Finally, when the client opened more service points to handle applications and provide customer service, they realized they had to have an integrated system that streamlines the business processes. And they turned to Infoskape.
The solution was to have a web application easily accessible by users at different physical locations. Business processes were modeled and mapped into a web workflow application. The system automates task routing. For example, upon the entry of applicant data, the system automatically checks the postal code and forwards the electronic application to the service point serving that postal code. The idea is to let the nearest surveyor visit the applicant. Essentially all tasks along the business process are completed right from a single user interface, that is, the web browser.
