Here are some of my good friends...I love you guys!
Tanya Bijlani
Tanya was my first roommate at Stanford. She was a Junior transfer, and I was a Sophomore transfer. Both of us Indians, we complained a lot about Stern dining and
how we missed home cooking.
Tanya: "I want some daal chawal."
Sabrina: "I just need sonf!"
After obtaining her BA in Economics and Communications from Stanford in 1998,
Tanya continued her studies there. She graduated with a Masters in Sociology with
a focus in Org. Studies this past June. She is currently working for a strategy
consulting firm in San Francisco.
Anh Bui
Anh and I met during my Senior year at Stanford. She was Khara's roommate, and
as a result, she had me to deal with on a daily basis. I learned a lot about Anh
throughout the year like what a hard worker she is. I saw a bit of me in her and
came to respect Anh not only as a hard worker but as a good friend as well. Anh is
now a Junior, majoring in Biology. She is also a Head HAA in Paloma(Flo Mo).

Benjamin Carter
I met Ben in my Sophomore year at Stanford and found out quickly that he was
a CS genius. He was in most of classes, and we worked together several times on
various projects. He was my partner for CS194: Software Project. Together, we
built a 3D Physics Simulator. Ben is now a Senior, majoring in Computer Science.
He interned at Microsoft this past summer and will probably be the next Bill Gates...
Check out his web page!

Robi Goswami
I met Robi, a fellow Indian, during my Senior year. Richie and he were roommates
and lived right next door to me. You know, Richie loves to get down, but not Robi.
He only likes to do Bhangra, but you better watch out for this "double" major.
Robi is now a Junior at Stanford, majoring in Electrical Engineering with plans of
entering Med School. Smartie pants! He is also a Head HAA in Trancos(Wilbur).
Richie Kul
Richie, Richie, Richie! Richie was always quite a character. I met Richie
in my Senior year at Stanford. He lived right next door to me. I used to tease him
a lot, but he was always a good sport. Richie, you can sing, really, you can. Richie
is now a Junior majoring in Economics. He is also a RA in Serra(Stern).

Rebecca Price
Becca and I also met during my Senior year, and we became friends as a result of
our passion for the X-Files. She too helped form the Twain X-Files fan group
(see below). She loved watching the old episodes with me especially the conspiracy
episodes, and when others would get tired of my constant raving of this great show,
Becca was always behind me. Becca, of course, has other interests as well like singing.
She is part of the Stanford Chamber Chorale and has a beautiful voice. She also has
a great sense of humor; I'll never forget her laugh. Becca is now a Sophomore interested
in pursuing Symbolic Systems. BTW, Becca is from Princeton, New Jersey -- a Jerseyan
just like me. Go Garden State! Go Beccaboo!

Khara Ramos
Well, where do I begin? I met Khara in my Senior year at Stanford; she lived
down the hall from me, and I never thought we would become such good friends. I
guess we found that we shared the same interests like the love of music and dancing,
watching movies, eating out, shopping, and laughing really hard till we fell
to the ground. We had some good times together, Khara and I. Khara is now a Junior
majoring in Symbolic Systems. She is also a RA in Arroyo(Wilbur).

Amy Reid
Amy -- that crazy girl! I met Amy during my Senior year. We were both X-Files
fanatics and together formed sort of a Twain X-Files fan group, for there were
many other Twain X-philes like us -- Becca! We would gather in front of the tube
every Sunday night to catch the new episode of the week. We would also watch reruns
on FX and the X-Files: Fight The Future
movie over and over again. We just couldn't get enough. We even had a X-Files Faces
of Twain where Amy and I could show off our great X-Files paraphernalia: dolls,
calendars, books. Amy, of course, has other interests as well like acting. She was
in Gaieties, Stanford's annual pre-Big Game play. Amy is now a Sophomore interested in pursuing Symbolic Systems.
Vanessa Shui
Minivan was my roommate for Fall quarter of Senior year. She was the one who
really introduced me to the fun side of student life. With her, I came out of my
shell and started going out more, to parties, movies, and restaurants. She would
even take me out to get food late at night; neither of us liked Stern dining, so
we would either eat out or make our own microwave meals. We lived on macaroni &
cheese, White Castle cheeseburgers, and that spicy Chinese soup. Yummi! We soon
became friends with Richie and Robi who lived next door to us, and together, we
had some wild times! Minivan is now a Junior, majoring in Biology with a minor
in Economics. BTW, Vanessa owns a minivan, hence the nickname.
Aracely Tamayo
My dear Cely...Cely was my RA for two of the three years that I lived in Twain.
She was there when I first came to Stanford as a Sophomore. We became really good
friends my second year, and from then on, we became inseparable. She was my best
bud! At times, we would make each other laugh so hard that we couldn't breathe.
I'll never forget those times. Even after she graduated, she would often come back
to visit and check up on me. So in many ways, Cely has seen it all from the beginning. Wrapped up in her are all the good and bad times I had at Stanford. Cely graduated
with a BA in Psychology from Stanford in 1998 and is now working in Micronesia for
the Peace Corps.
Minja Trklja
Minja the Ninja! No, I never called her that, but I always thought it sounded cool.
(The "j" in Minja is pronounced as a "y.") Minja and I met during my Sophomore year.
She's from Bosnia Herzegovina, and I guess you could say she was my first international friend. We were both transfers and had a lot to deal with as a result. We often stressed each other out, always complaining of the tough work load, but we managed. Minja and I
were also big fans of good food. She loved Miyake's and Beppo's. Minja received
her BS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford in 1998 and is still there, working
toward her Masters in EE; she is in her second year of graduate studies.
Sheila Vanegas
I met Sheila at Columbia during my only year there -- Freshman year. We were both
from New Jersey and soon became close friends. We would love to stay up all night and
talk about nothing. We were a true Seinfeldian duo. Sheila would often accompany me to
where I needed to go; you can never be too careful in NYC. We really enjoyed each other's company, and we never ran out of things to tell each other or talk about. Sheila and I
have lost touch since I went off to Stanford, but since we last talked, I think she
had plans of majoring in Criminal Justice or was it Political Science? Sheila, where
are you? I lost your phone number a while ago, and now I am desperately trying to
contact you. Give me a call!
