. ..
there was a girl named Pam who grew up in Darnestown, Maryland. The
youngest of four siblings, her love for swimming and geeky things naturally
led her to Stanford. Her love for computers and California led her to
settle in Silicon Valley. At the end of the 20th century, she was firmly
ensconced in a small tech startup in San Francisco.
At
the same time, in an almost diametrically opposite part of the globe
- New Delhi, India, there was a boy named Navneet. His love for all
things geeky eventually brought him to Silicon Valley, and to a consulting
gig at a small tech startup in San Francisco.

...
at work at the aforementioned startup (still miraculously alive - barely).
Pam denies all recollection of their first meeting, a training course
where Pam made a brief appearance as the "subject matter expert"
and Navneet, a student in the class, was no doubt creating all sorts
of trouble. It didn't take long, however, for Pam to realize that Navneet
was a great carpool buddy and eventually, we became best friends.

...
we realized that we were right for each other. Pam was a little slow
- she needed the cat's blessings, which he readily granted on the first
day he met Navneet. Navneet was even slower - but he eventually came
around.

...over the phone. Well, it was supposed to be much more romantic
than that. Navneet's mom was in town and his family had planned
a surprise engagment party for us the day before she left, but Pam had
to spoil it by insisting that she was busy that day. Navneet probably
wonders to this day whether or not she'll be that much of a pain for
the rest of their lives.

... married
on March 16, 2002 in Los Altos, CA. It was wonderful to be surrounded
by our family and friends who were all very supportive and helpful during
the agonizing planning months. If you missed the wedding, you can read
more about it or visit our photo gallery.

...
life has been wonderful so far. We'll keep you posted, of course. We're
very slowly getting our home in order and are learning how to cook some
of our favorite Thai and Indian dishes. We hope that some of you can
stop and enjoy them with us soon.
