Summer 1995: IBM Corporation - Information Technology

Worked as a programmer, software developer, and server administrator in San Jose, CA: Developed custom database applications and worked as an administrator for Lotus Notes groupware; Worked as a LAN Server administrator; Coded in REXX to manipulate databases; Performed hardware and software installation

Winter 1995: Industrial Engineering Project - Production Line Optimization

Worked as a consultant for EP Technologies in Sunnyvale, CA: Performed a production line optimization involving batch sizing, production scheduling, worker scheduling and extensive use of computer modeling software; Winner of the Arthur Andersen/Stanford Prize for the best industrial engineering project

Summer 1994: E & J Gallo Winery - Management

Worked as an Engineering Associate for Gallo Management Services in Modesto, CA: Performed financial (IRR, NPV, Payback) analyses for multi-million dollar projects; Worked on redesign and replacement of distribution center conveyor systems; Programmed a Warehouse Sizing Model in Microsoft Excel Visual Basic to analyze the capacities of current and potential warehouses for expansion and construction purposes; Created a users manual for an automated truck routing software package; Set up the hardware and software for the automated truck routing package on location, and taught manual routers how to use it; Performed an operations review of a winery distribution center including a sales route activity study to locate inefficiencies
