Coursework includes internet programming, programming methodology and abstractions (taught in C), data structures and algorithms, operating systems, user interface design, compilers, assembly language programming, computer hardware organization (including hardware control, microcoding, cache/memory hierarchies), digital design laboratory, and mediation and conflict resolution.

EXPERIENCE

1/96 - 6/96 Intern, Center for Advanced Medical Informatics at Stanford, Stanford, CA. Designed a web utility which marked up user specified pages with hyperlinks according to a knowledge base. Developed several other utilities in perl.

6/95 - 8/95 Design Intern, Andersen Consulting, San Francisco, CA. Designed flows for the Architectural Design phase of a large, three-tiered client-server customer service system. Researched and presented seminar on telecommunications and deregulation.

6/94 - 12/94 Diagnostics Engineer, Apple Computer, Inc., Cupertino, CA. Worked with DSP in writing diagnostic test suites for the sound chip in the PowerMac 7500 series. Also wrote tests for the DMA controller and Level 2 cache. Programmed in MPW and learned to program in a large and complex coding environment. Worked closely with the Mac Desktop System ROM team.

9/93 - 6/94 Distributed Systems Consultant, Sweet Hall, Stanford University. Analyze problems encountered by Stanford system users of Stanford's UNIX AFS and NFS networks. Maintain UNIX workstations in main computing center on campus. Train new consultants.

6/93 - 9/93 Software Testing and Administration Intern, AST Research, Inc., Irvine, CA. Researched and presented seminar on UNIX, including topics such as kernel operation and shell script. Designed test scripts for UNIX and DOS applications. Tested and configured Pentium servers (including multiprocessors). Expanded knowledge of Disk Arrays (RAID's), Novell NetWare (LAN's), OS/2, SCO UNIX, ODT UNIX, and Windows NT. Installed various network interface cards, disk controllers, and peripherals.

9/91 - 6/92 Brakes Division Team Leader, Stanford Solar Car Project, Stanford University. Directed brake search from beginning to finish. Conducted research, negotiated with major companies, designed brake brackets, and installed and tested brakes.
