This was my first attempt at composing... inspired by homesickness at Columbia my Frosh year. I never finished it, as I thought the words and melody got a little silly at the end... so it remains unfinished.

This was my second real attempt at composing... I composed it in order to get into the Intro. to Composition class at Columbia. You'll note that I went through a lot of theory... and I think it shows. There's more thematic elements, and the voice leading is much better.
String quartet
After a semester of Intro. to Composition, this is what I composed. Pretty mellow... tonal, but not really tonal. I think you definitely need to have a certain personality to be able to sit through it. The TA said it drove him nuts... but I guess he likes the edgy stuff.
Here's my little arrangement of Child of the Poor... a really amazing carol that can be sung simultaneously with What Child is This? I love it! Here you have my arrangement of a verse and the chorus. Note that the chorus melody from What Child is This is played simultaneously with the Child of the Poor chorus melody.
