8:30 PM on a Sunday, and here I am at work. I hoped this wouldn't ever happen. Weekends are supposed to be mine, not work's. I did enjoy the weekend though, after a rough week at work. A lot of things went wrong, and a lot had to be done. And it's not over yet. I'm not sure I can take this kind of pressure all the time, but this is only the first time I've been pushed this far. I hope it's the exception, and not the rule. Even worse, they could be easing me in... pushing me just a little further each time... until I become a slave, I suppose. I would hope that this is more one of those things that happen from time to time.
Collegiates was fun! Tiring though. Got up at 6:15, didn't get back until midnite. My muscles are still a little sore from yesterday, which is kind of sad, since I only did 2 sets (about 3 mins of action). Bruised both my knees too, doing the splits on both sides. Somehow over the course of the day, I became Batman, and my Camry became the Batmobile. I laughed and smiled so much yesterday that my cheeks were sore. That's one of those good sorenesses. We all got very excited while talking to our coaches at Coriya (Hot Pot City) afterwards, because we were told that we could all start learning new weapons soon.
I slept in until 9 this morning, then did some laundry. While that was happening, I messed around with recording stuff on my computer. It was a blast! 2 hours flew by like nothing. Then Vanessa came by and checked out the condo. She also helped me fold my laundry so we could make brunch fashionably late.
Brunch was good. We had some Chinese dim sum, in the form of sweet soymilk and Chinese fried breadsticks. Rice cakes and scallion pancakes followed. Good stuff. It was good to talk to Ming and Willa again. They were my first friends at Stanford, and it was good to see that the both of them were doing well.
The rest of my afternoon was spent putting laundry away, taking a shower, trying (and failing) to get a haircut (place was closed), visiting Annie, and going to mass. Annie was such a sweetie to entertain me even though she was dead tired. I felt bad for interrupting her schedule, but I was glad to see her. She's a dear sister to me.
The condo is doing well. Dan and I need to get our butts into gear to finish unpacking and vacuum it up once. Appliances are in now. The refrigerator is sooooo coool! As we were taking off the tape and cardboard in it, we discovered tons of features. We'd be like... wait... what's this for... aaaahhhhhh! Whoa...! Needless to say, I'm quite happy with the way things have turned out with the condo. I just need a dining table at this point.
Off to pick up a friend from the airport. More thoughts later.
