The law that authorizes a 10-year, 50-state circulating commemorative quarter dollar program received strong endorsement during a July 26 hearing of the House Banking and Financial Services Subcommittee on Domestic and International Monetary Policy.
The support came from one of its members other than Chairman Rep. Michael Castle, R-Del., who introduced the enabling legislation. "This is a positive idea that will touch everyone in this country," said third-term Rep. Frank D. Lucas, R-Okla. "This will happen."
