apparently, today is world toilet day 2003, as declared by the world
toilet organization.  i can't really say that i've done anything
celebratory to mark the occasion, other than using a toilet, an everyday
activity for me.  i do, however, happen to have something to write about
on the subject of toilets, so perhaps writing this entry can serve to mark
the occasion.

recently, our apartment ran out of toilet paper.  a roll of paper towels
was placed in the bathroom as a temporary substitute.  at first, i was
rather apprehensive about the prospect of having to use paper towels, but
after doing so, i'd have to say that the paper towels were a lot better
than whatever brand of toilet paper we were using before.  at least one of
my roommates also seems to prefer the paper towels to the toilet paper, so
i don't know if we're going to be buying toilet paper anytime soon.
