Founded and have rapidly grown revenues and client base at this technology consultancy firm. The focus is on providing services in the confluence areas of business strategy, user experience, and start-up strategy. Clients have ranged from large Fortune 500 companies to 2 person start-ups seeking angel funding.

  • Yahoo!: Several projects related to the Personals (online relationship search) property, including:
    • International market growth and mobile platform integration.
    • User experience design in the areas of community, authenticity and marketing promotions.
    • Analyzing and formulating roadmap for integration points with other properties including social search, RSS, mail, photos and mobile.
  • AOL: Lead the long-term product strategy and user experience for various products, including security products, RSS readers and rich media players.
    • Integrated several internal and 3rd party applications for the AOL Safety and Security Suite. Tasks included guiding the long term experience strategy, understanding the industry and product landscape, creating the appropriate user experience as per AOL’s target user base, working under time and functional limitations for specific product releases, and creating a scalable user experience framework.
    • Created the long-term strategy for RSS, including entry point, content and application integration across the AOL domain.
    • Developed RSS reader product specifications and user experiences for an email integrated reader, an AOL browser integrated reader and a stand-alone web based reader.  
  • Other strategy/design clients include:
    • DHL Worldwide/Open Harbor: A hosted import/export shipping metrics application that launched across 50 countries.
    • Mighty Phone: A cross platform PIM application (mobile, web, desktop).
    • Ingenuity: Knowledge-based analysis software for a bio-tech start-up. 
  • Lotus White: Co-founded this socially conscious ecommerce company in January 2003 under Suntru LLC. The company collaborates with native artisans in Asia to design products for the American market and uses the profits to support child education in Asia. Established all operational systems, including the supplier selection and negotiation process, the ecommerce front-office and back-office system development and online and off-line marketing and sales targets. Handed off active responsibility to concentrate on the growth of the consulting practice.

Co-founded and managed this hosted Internet applications company in the demand chain management and CRM/PRM space. Trapezo's hosted applications enable businesses to distribute and manage their products and services across multiple online and partner sales channels in real-time.

  • Directed the executive team in all strategic and day-to-day operational aspects across the sales, product, business development and financial departments.
  • Created and refined the business strategy across the lifespan of the company and raised angel and venture financing for $16.7 million in 3 rounds.
  • Directed competitive, business and financial case analysis that was instrumental in increasing sales from 0 to $2.3 million within a single year. Customer wins included Dell, Compaq, CNET, CBC.
  • Grew the company from 0 to 50+ employees over 3 years, including employees in 5 different US cities.
  • Led business initiative to explore partnerships, sales channels expansion and product customization into the UK and continental Europe.
  • Initiated and evangelized the outsourcing of software development and contractors efforts to India, resulting in 3 significant product releases in 9 months with parallel development cycles across inter-continental teams.
  • Directed outsourcing and rigorous vendor management across all departments to maintain company-wide focus on core business areas.
  • Co-created the patent-pending concept and software behind Trapezo. Instrumental in the initial and ongoing design and direction of the product. The application provided 400% cost and time savings over the closest competitor.

  • Lead team in managing the product suite and designing for mySAP, a complex suite of 6 Internet applications for SAP Germany.
  • Lead and/or participated in online site projects for LATimes.com and More.com.
  • Worked on several interdisciplinary projects with the product design teams for kiosks, mobile and industrial projects.
  • Departed to start Trapezo, Inc.

Alias|Wavefront (A division of Silicon Graphics)

Recruited from Stanford to participate in the growth of the fledgling HCI group. Worked on several projects and functional duties ranged from conducting business analysis, prototyping, user studies to specification development and testing.

  • Designed a coherent design philosophy for Power Animator Worlds, a suite of 3 applications targeted at game developers.
  • Designed integration plug-ins for Oscar winning Maya software to include remotely developed applications like Cuzco and Maya Cloth.

Managed the entire design project for Mac OS 8.x's Internet connectivity utilities. Also contributed to Apple's web design guidelines project.
